Sentinel UCAV
The Sentinel Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) is primarily a ground defense platform capable of carrying 100 pounds of specially designed anti-armor and anti-personnel ordinance. With its VSTOL and hover capabilities, it can defend an area without the need for a runway or other large footprints of conventional aircraft. In addition to having 40% of its gross takeoff weight be ordinance, the modular design allows for an ultra-high turn around time that enables the aircraft to get back into the fight almost as fast as a soldier who has run out of ammunition. This modular design for a UAV also empowers the operator to change the mission profile simply by changing components such as payload, ISR electronics, engines and even the wings. The Sentinel UCAV is the future of modular UAV design.
CommSat
